COMUN started in 2016 as a one-day conference held in the town hall of Gouda. Over the years, the conference gained international recognition and became a renowned event. In 2020, due to its increasing popularity, we decided to elevate the conference by organizing a full 3-day event. This change was a tremendous success, and since then, we have been building upon our past achievements to deliver an even better conference each year.

COMUN stands for Coornhert Model United Nations. In a MUN conference, delegates represent various countries in a formal, international setting, mirroring the structure of the United Nations. Delegates engage in discussions about real-world issues from the perspective of the countries they represent. By the end of the conference, participants will have developed innovative solutions to these global problems.

This engaging debate offers an entertaining and educational weekend where attendees become familiar with global issues, develop public speaking skills, gain insights into diplomacy and negotiations, and have the opportunity to meet new people.
